8 Days to my LCD TV

Woke up early to wait for the Starhub Cable Man. Going to get my new digital box today. But the focus will be the free Samsung TV! :p Came and set up and I got to watch THUNDERCATS! Wow. The last time I watched the cartoon, I was like only Primary 6, watching from TV3.

Had some food and end up with a headache soon after. Must be the Heat. It is HOT as baking oven outside. Took a nap but the headache just won't go ahead. Decided to go for a jog under the baking sun. Came back. Still the same. Showered and zzzzzz

Meeting Day

Meeting day. Spent the whole morning at BBK Polyclinic.

Afternoon was just work and work. Swarmed with work...

Dinner was @ Akashi Japanese Restaurant at level B1 @ Paragon with an old NUS sch mate.

Work Done = Force X Distance moved in the direction of the force. Wonder if I did any meaningful work if I Just sat @ my desk the whole day staring at the screen...

Signed up Cable TV today :-p Going to get a free Samsung 19 inch HD-Ready LCD TV worth $899! Need to find a spot in my room to hang this new baby...

After work it was a my sub IBM team get together @ HOG'S BREATH CAFE VIVOCITY...... Nice Steak =P

Grandpa's 97th Birthday

Grandpa's 97th Birthday Today. Took Leave today to spend some time with him today. Took him out for lunch, and chit-chatted.

Took him for a hair cut, he requested to shave bald, HOT weather he said. That's him with the new shiny hair-cut. :p

When I left, I saw my old primary school...

Headed off down to VIvocity to get a new Nokia phone N73 using the $100 discount voucher given by STARHUB for me to re-contract the plan. Only at payment I realized that, it was like not worth it... coz my Roaming and CAller ID became NOT FREE anymore. (5+5)*12 = $120 for 1st year. $60 for 2nd year. Total loss = $80. Hmmmmzzz. Dumb me.

Had Tea with a senior @ Vivocity before I went home to zzzzzzzzzz.

What a HOT day!

It was boiling hot in the morning. I had shower before I headed for breakfast. But I was sweating again soon after.

Finally caught Ocean's 13 @ JP. Cool. I love thieves. High End Intelligent ones. Or perhaps I just love Intelligent People. Its hard to find intelligent people... or am I looking at the wrong places ? Will there be 14, 15, 16...

Up next TRANSFORMERS...

Purchased some slipper lobsters and fried them for dinner. It was quite a good buy... but the effort was really huge. Prepared the food, cook the food, cleaned the dishes, mopped the floor. Ate the food. Not bad. Just tired. Perhaps it would be a good work-out.

Time to tune my alarm clock to 630am. Can I or Can I not ? Better go and glued the running shoes' sole before I zzz

Busy Saturday

Had a good jog under the mid morning sun around the track.

Hungry. Headed down to Clementi for coffee and food with Suan @ Teck Hin... I Hope they can hold on till everything is back to normal...

Some job search on Recruit.... and headed to Bus interchange NTUW for some more coffee...

Back to office around 5pm but was brain-dead and thirsty... picked up a can of sarsi from the canteen and when I got back to office, it was quiet, so so quiet. By 630pm, it was near empty. Let's go... No point staying around...

Need to help ah chua with the laptop. Some issues. Strange thing abt dead pixel. In an advance world like this, we are still asked to check if there is any dead pixels using our eyes. Surely there exists some tool or software that can help ? Anyway, sighz.

Visited grandpa & bummed around Clementi. Afternoon Tea with ah lim. Relaxing life. If only... Anyway Sighz.

Went home. had a 2 hr workout around the jogging tracks plus some sit ups. No way I going to let myself put on more weight...

Cooked my dinner and TV. Friday Morning. I shall Jog before going to work...

Another sign of aging... Saw wrinkles. Sighz. 1 of my friends told me I lost my 'shine' since last Aug 06. Hmmzzz. Food for thought.

Work... And suddenly it was firedrill. Sighz, followed the crowd downstairs to the assembly area. I always wonder what shall we do IF the escape route is ON FIRE. Seems that there is only 1 designated escape route told to us. Why ain't there plan B? or they expect us to jump out of the windows? Anyway, I think if there is a real fire, it will be chaos. Better sieve out the PLAN B yourself, or for your Team.


Hot afternoon. I was busy. But I can't seem to remember what I am busy with. Oh well, better go home on time to have some ba zang~

Comeback Kings

Well, it just had to happen.

A great comeback by Real Madrid to snatch the title from Barcelona, right on the last day. It just had to happen, pure drama. Well, I missed it too. Alarm clocks failed to wake me up these days. Perhaps I am getting old. Can’t stay up or get up in the middle of the night for soccer. Perhaps I should even consider canceling my cable TV since I can’t have time / unable to wake up to watch Soccer since Starhub is going to raise the prices…

Other than this important happening on the other side of the globe, life is the same here for me.

Got a craving for crabs and bought 5 flower crabs on the way back home and steamed them. What next?

Liga~ Finale

I woke up at 5am this morning, realized I dozed off again! My desk lamp and laptop were on throughout the nite! I went back to bed, setting the alarm for 8 to go for a jog.

Alas, it was raining… AGAIN!

Had yesterday’s food for breakfast and idle a bit. Waiting for the rain to stop but it seemed to go on and on…

Gave up. Visited a friend in the late afternoon to idle again.

It was 8 plus when I reached back to watch the condor heros… The female lead is actually quite pretty… Another reason to watch…

Tonight will be the Liga~ grand finale… I hope beckham leaves Madrid with something but then, I don’t like Real Madrid and will hope Barcelona takes the title tonight. But who knows, Seville may just snatched it~ Let’s wait and see…

Sister's Party

I woke up this morning, wanted to go for a jog. Alas, it was raining… How can the sky be so cruel to me ... What to do? I went back to bed and slept till 11am. No calls and all from the support phone, everything is fine today.

Brushed my teeth, washed up and headed for breakfast. Did some groceries shopping along the way and reached home around 1pm. Great. All clear today. My weekend starts now.

Showered and began to idle… read ECONOMIST… and fell asleep

By the time I was up, my relatives were already here. It was my sister Birthday Celebration. There was food, drinks, and more food and people and of course noise, and more noise and chaos. For once, I found my living room was a bit too small.

Took out my bottles of HOEGAARDEN and drank with my cousin, together with food and drinks with my other cousins, seated in one corner of my house, watching TV, away from my sister’s chaotic friends.

It was around 11pm when peace resumed.

$0.99 cents sushi @ Jurong Stadium

Work is running my body and soul to the ground.

I decided to leave early, but I realized its already 640pm and around me was sheer quietness.

Went to this Sushi place that i saw on TV at Jurong Stadium for $0.99 sushi. Guess the only value worth thing was the 99 cents sushi. The rest are quite pricer than my usual sushi place => Sakae Sushi.

Guess where I will go next time?

Team Building @ Paulaner Bräuhaus

A little session with my boss and fellow IBM team at Paulaner Bräuhaus @ Millenia Walk after work.

Food and drinks and some entertaining talk and nice catch-up. Haven’t had such a session for a while… really hope to make this a monthly thing…

After all, team building is important, especially in a big company.

Dental Day

I spent most of the day searching for a dental clinic that will take me since I didn't make a appointment in advance...

I found one @ Clementi. Neat and nice, polish and scale my teeth, fluoride treatment, gum treatment and even took a X-Ray. I had 4 wisdom teeth, 2 up and 2 down. Perhaps that explained my 'wisdom' since I have all 4.

They have let me know that they are there and I hope that they stay there. I do not want to take them out since they are mine and part of me. I know that some people lived their entire life without wisdom tooth problem. I hope I can be one of them as well.

A get together dinner with my fellas of IBM batch 2004 at YAN PALACE.

Sumptuous dinner. Haven’t eaten @ YAN PALACE since I left previous account in 2006.

A round of drinks at a particular joint @ Far East Square followed before we headed home for some rest.

How time flies. It has already been almost 3 years for us in IBM.

Went to get some housekeeping stuff and have a long evening jog. Came back home for some instant mee and TV all the way. Dread the start of a new week. Work is taking its toll on me.

Reddish Brown Hair

Woke up today, feeling a sense of laziness… Went to a Penny’s baby 1^st month celebration with ah Boo & Co and ah Yu. The hamper of birdnest does really looked good I must say.

Food and more food followed and we left around 2+

I headed off to get a long overdue haircut and colored my hair reddish brown. Cannot be red this time as my ICT is just around the corner in August. Do not want anytime of “go back and dye your hair black before you come and report”

Went back and have a jog, idle a bit and watched some TV. Life goes onz.

Another working day ends early.

All have left. So I better run as well.

Time check: its only 630pm. I guess I get to have dinner before 8 today! Pizza Hut followed. Went to EuYanSang to get a bird nest hamper for Penny. Its her baby first month celebration tomorrow

Dinner before 8pm

Another hectic day at work. Meetings and discussion and lots of backlog... when will it all end? Perhaps TOTO tonight can relieve me of all my duties...

One thing is sure, I won't be working late tonight. I need to settle a laptop purchase for one of my army reservists Ah Chua. Chua picked me up at my work place and we headed off to NTU.

It was after some round and round till we found 8Flags. I wasn’t a NTU student but a NUS student. And the number of times I been to NTU is less than all my fingers combined even though I stayed so close and my sis is currently a student inside.

After some checking and all, it was time for some food at Jurong Point Soup Restaurant. Heh, this restaurant recently just IPO. Perhaps should have bought some shares and ‘own’ 0.00000000001% of it right =p

After all this, I just realized that I am so lucky to have dinner before 7pm today and reached home before 8pm today. Showered and all, it was only 830pm. So happy. After all, 830pm sometimes was just the time I managed to sit down at a coffee shop and ordered my food…

But I know, good times won’t last.

Mid Week

Its only Mid Week... and my favourite letters are both O & T.

Sometime I wonder if work will ever end. I came to the conclusion that it doesn't. Else I will be retrenched! Simple as that. If no work is required, there will be no need for me to stick around. And thus, no job = no salary = life on the streets. Perhaps I should be happy that there's work around for me to work, the more the merrier, the never ending the better.
